Blue Whale, France’s largest apple exporter, has been developing its fruit sourcing in the Southern Hemisphere in recent years and is excited to partner with VECS Investments to strengthen its sourcing and supply base. Inversiones VECS, a Chilean company founded by two former executives of Hortifrut, San Clemente, and T&G, was founded a few years ago and has experienced rapid growth purchasing Chilean fruits for international partners.
Pascal Marrocq, from Blue Whale, stated: «We are delighted to take a new step forward in our development in Chile, adding VECS as our new local representative. They will support us in commercial, logistical, and administrative matters, as they’ll be our liaison with local producers. They are great professionals and we share the same values, so it seemed natural for us to join forces to continue expanding our business in Chile.»
The objective of this association is to increase Blue Whale’s southern hemisphere’s counter-season sales offer to continue supplying fresh products to its customers throughout the year. Initially, they will focus on apples, grapes, kiwis, and pears.
In Chile, VECS will contribute its in-depth sourcing knowledge and experience in the local market, ensuring compliance with Blue Whale’s strict quality standards, while strengthening the volume and range of products.
«This new stage will allow us to continue ensuring we provide our customers in more than 70 countries with a quality product and service, 12 months a year, with the best apples, pears, kiwis, and grapes from Chile,» Pascal Marrocq stated.
Blue Whale is the leading French apple producer and exporter, marketing fruit in more than 70 countries. In recent years it has also become one of the main exporters of fresh fruits in South America.
Inversiones Vecs is a company founded by Ignacio Smith and Felipe Rodriguez, former executives of Hortifrut, San Clemente, and T&G, with more than 40 years of experience in the fruit and vegetable sector. Vecs has similar sourcing agreements with companies in the US, China, and Australia, obtaining the best fresh fruits from Chile and Peru for them.
